Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Bardic, you agree to these Terms of Service. These Terms work alongside Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) — linked from Settings and on the App Store listing — which also governs your use of the app. If you do not agree, do not use the app. We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. About Bardic

Bardic is a tabletop-campaign debrief app operated by Simena Digital LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. After a game session you record a short spoken debrief, or type one. Current versions use Apple transcription on your phone and OpenAI for transcript corrections, a spoiler-free recap for your players, a fuller one for you, and a campaign index of the people, places and threads in your story. You can export any session to PDF, Word, Markdown, or plain text, and share a recap as an image or as text.

3. Account Registration

You create an account using Sign in with Apple. Your account identifies your subscription and campaign so they can be restored on a new device. Current versions keep debrief audio on your phone; transcripts, recaps, and campaign index are stored on our servers (see §5). You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use Bardic.

4. Subscription & Payments

New debriefs require an active subscription. After cancellation, existing transcripts, recaps, and campaign index remain available to read, share, and export. There is no free plan for creating new debriefs. Purchases are billed through Apple In-App Purchase, and the exact price is shown in your local currency on the App Store subscription screen before you confirm a purchase.

• Weekly plan: $8.99, billed once per week. Eligible subscribers may pay $0.99 for the first week; the purchase screen confirms eligibility.
• Yearly plan: $34.99, billed once per year. No introductory offer.
• The Weekly and Yearly plans automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your iOS Settings under Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy — we do not process refunds directly.
• Prices may vary by region and are displayed in your local currency in the App Store.
• Restore Purchases is available on the paywall and in Settings, and reattaches your Apple ID's existing purchase to your account.

5. User Content

You own your debriefs, transcripts, recaps and campaign index. As described in our Privacy Policy, current versions keep audio on your phone and send text for corrections and recaps. Older versions upload audio for Deepgram transcription and delete our copy afterwards. Your transcript, recaps and campaign index are stored on our servers so they are available across your devices. You grant us only the licence needed to run those features for you — to transcribe, summarise, index and store your material, and to send it to the providers named in the Privacy Policy for exactly those purposes. We do not use your campaign to train anyone's model, and we claim no ownership of it. Exporting to PDF, Word, Markdown, or plain text happens on your device; where you send an exported file is your choice, made through iOS's own share sheet.

You are responsible for the content you record, including complying with any laws in your jurisdiction about recording other people's speech. You may delete any recording, or your entire account, at any time from Settings within the app (see §11).

6. Transcription and Content Accuracy

Transcripts are produced using Apple speech recognition in current versions (Deepgram in older versions) and may contain errors, omissions, or misheard words — proper nouns invented at your table are especially prone to this. Recaps and the campaign index are written by an AI model from that transcript and may misstate what happened. Treat both as an aid to your memory, not a record of fact, and correct anything that matters: the campaign index is editable, and correcting a name there teaches Bardic that spelling for future sessions.

7. Third-Party Content and Services

Bardic integrates with the following third-party services:

• Apple: Sign in with Apple for authentication, and In-App Purchase for billing.
• RevenueCat: subscription billing and entitlement management.
• Sentry: crash and error reporting.
• OpenAI: transcript corrections, optional automatic titles, recaps and campaign index extraction — receives limited transcript excerpts for titles, transcript snippets and campaign names for corrections, and full debrief text with campaign context for recaps and indexing, without audio.
• Deepgram: older app versions only, speech-to-text — receives your debrief audio so it can be transcribed.

Each provider's own terms and privacy policy apply to those interactions. Bardic does not display third-party advertising and does not sell user data.

Bardic bundles no third-party text or content. Your campaign material is yours; see §8.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Bardic for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use automated means to access the service (bots, scrapers)
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Submit content designed to harm, harass, or threaten others
• Upload malicious content or code

9. Intellectual Property

Bardic, including its design, code, features, and branding, is the intellectual property of Simena Digital LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on Bardic without our written permission. What you record and what Bardic writes from it — your transcripts, recaps and campaign index — remain yours. We claim no ownership of your campaign.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Simena Digital LLC and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

• Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Bardic
• Transcription errors, or inaccuracies in an AI-written recap or campaign index
• Loss of a recording still held only on your phone, due to device failure, storage limits, or user error — current versions do not send us audio, so we have no server copy to recover. Older versions delete the uploaded audio after transcription finishes (see §5)
• Service interruptions, downtime, or data loss
• Issues arising from third-party services integrated with Bardic

Bardic is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to Bardic shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings within the app. Deletion is soft-applied immediately — your active session is ended and your Apple refresh token is revoked — and finalized after 30 days. During this 30-day grace window you may restore your account by signing in again with the same Apple ID. After 30 days, your account record (name, email, and subscription status) is permanently and irreversibly deleted. Your transcripts, recaps and campaign index are deleted from our servers with the account. From app version 1.1, the app also erases the recordings, transcripts and table photos it keeps on the phone you delete from; with older versions, delete the app to remove them.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or pose a security risk to other users or the integrity of the service.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Bardic shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

13. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
